Experimenting with lenticulars
Remember those funny prizes we used to get in Cracker Jack boxes that would show something like a frog jumping or person leaping? I loved those more than the caramel popcorn and peanuts. Those types of prizes—the images that give the illusion of depth or movement when one views them from different angles— used lenticular technology, and I have always been fascinated by it. My new solar plate relief print takes the words love and hate and plays with them visually so they morph into each other and change with different points of view. Kind of like life itself. When I get through mounting the scored and folded version, it will always be available already framed in a shadowbox. The flat version will be available, too, to be framed however you wish. It is rather graphic in and of itself.
